Harambee's Projects

Harambee's projects have a focus on:
bringing an understanding of global issues to the local community
promoting action and awareness - particularly among young people.
Our projects:

  • Educating for a Global Future 
    is an exciting national initiative to support secondary schools make progress in delivering the global dimension in the curriculum.
  • Global Artists
    that Harambee can draw on bring art and culture into the classroom and place it in a global context.
  • Global Youth Action
    provides young people the opportunity to take action on any issue that is important to them.
  • Global Voices
    are volunteers who are currently living locally, but have roots in Southern countries (Africa, Asia and Latin America). They are keen to share their experience of life in other countries and cultures through activities and workshops in schools and the local community.
  • Dig for Sustainability
    A youth project exploring how past practices and self suffiency initiative such as Dig for Victory relate to current concerns about sustainable lifestyles. Funded by the  Heritage Lottery & V.
  • The World In Our City
    allows individuals and groups (such as campaigning societies) that are concerned with global issues (such as development, trade, tourism or climate change) to bring their message to the people of Cambridge through training on workshop design and facilitation and opportunities to give workshops in schools and at local events.
  • Perceptions of Africa
    has been designed to shape children’s and teachers’ perceptions of Africa into a more balanced view of the realities and complexities of the African Continent.
