Partnerships

  • EEDEN
Harambee is one of 12 education organisations in the Eastern Region that are working together through the East of England Development Education Network (EEDEN), funded by the Department for International Development, which has similar initiatives in each region. EEDEN aims to build capacity in the education system  via its 10 year Global Thinking strategy to ensure that teachers are equipped and motivated to provide young people with a global view.
  • Ghana School Partnerships
In partnership with CAMFED International, the Harambee Centre ran the Ghana School Partnerships project enabling in schools in East Anglia to develop learning partnerships with schools in the Northern Region of Ghana. This DFID funded project ran from March 2003 to March 2006. Despite the end of funding for the project itself the partnerships formed between schools remain and Harambee is able to provide sessional support for the schools involved.

Members

We are a membership organisation with our roll of members confirming the importance of our mission to local schools and individuals.

Volunteers

Volunteers have contributed to all parts of our organisation. The foundations of this website were laid by two dedicated volunteers, another thoroughly tested of this site when it was launched, and volunteer Andrew implemented our planned move to Dreamweaver templates and HTML validation of this 50+ page site. A longstanding volunteer with many years of experience runs our resource sales and resource library. We also have volunteers aiding our administration, helping with workshops preparation, giving workshops, and formulating fundraising ideas.
